On Christmas Day of 2005, we successfully delivered 9 huge duffle bags loaded with toys, clothing, school supplies, and toiletries to a resort facility donated by a local couple where 70 of the children from the Dominica Orphanage were gathered. Their teachers and volunteers were there as we had a festive party, shared a feast, played with the children and passed out gifts to each of the very polite, extremely grateful children, ages 4-17.

The greatest miracle was the clearance of all the bags through Customs. A local volunteer, working on our behalf, saw that the children received their special gifts, by renting a truck, bringing everything to the Customs warehouse, convincing authorities that the gifts came from Santa and expedited the process which (we found out at the last minute) could have been held up another day. Thanks go out to all who helped to make this incredible journey possible, especially to my sister Sharon, whose spark of an idea allowed this mission of love to come to be!
